Cheaper Spanish Properties with VAT savings for new build properties


Spanish Properties represent a real bargain with new VAT reductions announced today, 19th August 2011. A new law approved by the Spanish Government sees a reduction in property VAT from 8% to 4% for new build properties meeting the following criteria:

1. The property has to be new without a title deed signed.
2. Properties purchased on and after 19th August 2011.
3. Title deeds have to be signed before 31st December 2011

VAT Savings on Spanish PropertiesThe announcement came today (19 August 2011) from José Blanco, Minister for Development and Elena Salgado, Economic Vice president, following a ministerial meeting. The 50% reduction in VAT has been widely welcomed by the property industry and buyers alike. It's no wonder the news has been welcomed as the Spanish IVA reduction can mean a large saving. As an example, property purchasers are looking at saving a sizeable €8,000 on a €200,000 purchase.
